Dear #firstname#,
My team and I are now back in London after a fantastic month exhibiting and promoting art from Florida to Chicago. We would like to thank all our supporters and collectors for the outstanding success of our recent presentation at Expo Chicago. Cynthia Corbett Gallery received great curatorial interest as well as substantial sales both to existing and new clients and we are very pleased to have sold artworks from every artist we exhibited. Many artworks have been acquired by prominent private and public collectors, and the curation remains accessible online - we invite you to revisit both our main curation and the curation on Artsy. Highlights include: 20+ Modernist paintings and collages by British/American painter Andy Burgess acquired by prominent private and public collectors, 'HOME' by British-trained/American artist Klari Reis her largest painting of 72 x 60 inches was placed with a Kansas City collector. New work by Matt Smith, British/Irish ceramicist, textile artist, curator and professor has entered notable collections including The Birmingham Alabama Museum of Art and a prominent Greek Collection. 'Revelations I' by American Young Masters award winner Elise Ansel is now with a Chicago based Art historian. Making their debuts, Scottish painter Alastair Gordon, Scottish/Chinese painter Elaine Woo MacGregor and English painter Miranda Boulton had substantial acquisition success.

CRISTINA SCHEK WINNER OF THE CHISWICK W4 FOURTH PLINTH |
We are delighted to announce that ‘The Ceiling in the Sky’ by Cristina Schek has been unveiled by Dame Siân Phillips as the new W4 Fourth Plinth. Borrowed from the Fourth Plinth concept in Trafalgar Square, The Chiswick W4th Plinth is a rolling programme of temporary public art curated by Abundance London since September 2019. The first artwork to be displayed was a collage of music hall entertainers at the Empire Theatre, by artist Sir Peter Blake, a long time Chiswick resident.
Abundance London, who organise the choice and delivery of the community art works, received nearly 500 submissions from artists to show their work this time, which the jury whittled down to just 15. The 12 which met the technical requirements for the space were put to a public vote. "We had thousands of votes for the W4 Fourth Plinth a fitting response as we had so many hundreds of submissions, and we are very excited about our winner." the judges said. Find out more here.

DEBORAH AZZOPARDI SOLO EXHIBITION: ASPECTS OF GLAMOUR |
Following in the Pop Art footsteps of Sir Peter Blake, we are thrilled to announce the much anticipated Solo Exhibition of Queen of British Pop Art Deborah Azzopardi: "Aspects of Glamour" 25th June - 1st July 2023 at 67 York Street Gallery. ‘America has Lichtenstein, we have Azzopardi!’ - Estelle Lovatt FRSA Deborah Azzopardi acquired her worldwide fame for the joyous Pop Art images she has created over the past 39 years. Her unique and feminine take on contemporary art is best described by the esteemed art critic Estelle Lovatt: ‘ America has Lichtenstein, we have Azzopardi!’ Lovatt goes on to comment: “ Sometimes you just want to curl up under a blanket. With a good book. A piece of chocolate. A man. This is what Deborah Azzopardi’s pictures make me feel like doing. They are me. They remind me of the time I had a red convertible sports car. I had two, actually. And yes, they are you, too. You immediately, automatically, engage with the narrative of Azzopardi’s conversational visual humour. Laughter is the best aphrodisiac, as you know. ... There’s plenty of art historical references from... Manet’s suggestive ‘Olympia’; Boucher’s thought-provoking... ‘Louise O’Murphy’ and Fragonard’s frivolous, knickerless, ‘The Swing’.... Unique in approach, you easily recognise an Azzopardi picture. ... Working simple graphics and toned shading (for depth), the Pop Art line that Azzopardi sketches is different to Lichtenstein’s. Hers is more curvaceous. Feminine.” For a selection of recent Azzopardi artworks, please click here. The full curation and digital catalogue will be available in June 2023. Please email sales@thecynthiacorbettgallery.com for further information.
