Glasgow Print Studio presents Sanctuary, an exhibition in original print, painting and drawing, featuring the work of Ian Chamberlain, Tom Hammick and Katherine Jones.

Please see a full exhibition preview here.

In its essential definition, Sanctuary suggests refuge or safety from persecution or other danger, while also acting as a corollary for ideas of protection, shelter, harbour or asylum. Such spaces could be physical, psychological, political, creative, and may be sought individually or collectively. The three exhibiting artists' works interface with this theme in differing, complimentary ways.

Calum McClure, And the Trees Grew Over the Ruins, 2024
Monotype and watercolour
Paper size: 60 x 85 cm

Preview: 09 Oct 6-8pm
Exhibition: 10 Oct - 29 Nov
In his third exhibition at Glasgow Print Studio, painter and printmaker Calum McClure has made a series of monotypes, all based on images found near his home in the North of Italy. During a time of shifting political allegiances and questions of sovereignty; borders, confines, and boundaries have become important motifs in his work. This is blended with an autobiographical element in the series, encompassing his move to Italy, near to the Italian border with Slovenia, where the Iron Curtain once ran, finishing in the city of Trieste, marking the division of East and West Europe.

Edition of 10
First Floor Gallery
Preview: 09 Oct 6-8pm
Exhibition: 10 Oct - 01 Nov
Glasgow Print Studio is delighted to present Damian Henry's Glasgow.

Damian Henry has been a member of Glasgow Print Studio for 25 years. This is his 4th exhibition at GPS galleries.

Henry's subject is Glasgow landmarks, in celebration of Glasgow's 850 birthday. The prints capture key city locations: Glasgow University, Tolbooth & Mercat Cross, Trongate, Riverside Museum, Kelvinbridge and the Duke of Wellington with his famous Glasgow Hat! These are not architectural renderings; their power lies in vivid images of Glasgow’s buildings seen through the eyes of an artist.
