Dear #firstname#,

As British Art Fair returns to the Saatchi Gallery on 25–28 September, we look forward to welcoming you to Stand 17. This year’s presentation shines a special light on our highly acclaimed gallery artists: Andy Burgess, celebrated for his dazzling modernist paintings; Deborah Azzopardi, whose bold Pop-inspired works are internationally iconic; Margo Selby, Britain’s leading textile artist; Matt Smith, a multi-award-winning artist, curator and art historian, and Freya Bramble-Carter, a rising star in contemporary ceramics. New Voices in Focus

Our British Art Fair curation this year marks a special celebration of our Young Masters Platform, ahead of Sweet 16: Young Masters Retrospective at 67 York Street Gallery during Frieze Week (14–20 October). We are especially delighted to debut two new works by Matt Smith - winner of the inaugural Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize in 2014 - The Reader (2025) and Shade: After Fragonard (2025) (see above). Below, we spotlight four Young Masters artists whose fresh perspectives and distinctive practices embody the platform’s spirit of innovation. Their works will be unveiled at the British Art Fair, Stand 17.

Three Graces: Becoming Perfect, 2024
Porcelain, gold lustre, screws. 33 x 17 x 14 cm

Jemma Gowland

Highly Commended for the Young Masters Emerging Woman Artist Award in 2023, Gowland explores how girls are shaped from birth to conform to ideals of beauty and behaviour. Working in porcelain and stoneware, her figurines echo the traditions of Meissen while revealing the vulnerability beneath.

Large Illustrated Seated Cow, 2024
Porcelain. height 19 cm

Claudette Forbes

Selected for the Young Masters For the Love of Art History open call in 2025, Forbes is an award-winning ceramicist whose provocative and humorous work is inspired by her Jamaican heritage and upbringing in Bristol. Her blue-and-white illustrated surfaces reinterpret willow pattern with a contemporary, political twist.

Glamarine I, 2025
Archival Pigment Print, 62 x 44 cm

Cristina Schek

Winner of the Young Masters People’s Choice Award 2025 and Highly Commended for the Rudolph Blume Foundation Acquisition Award, Schek debuts a new series created especially for British Art Fair. Her Diving Upwards – Glamour Edit celebrates optimism and imagination, with surreal swimmers ascending between sea and sky, while her imaginative works are also featured through the new Digitalism platform at the fair.

Pleasure Garden, 2025
Acrylic on Linen, 130 x 110 cm

Daisy McMullan

Having played a key role in shaping Young Masters as Curator in 2012 and remaining closely involved ever since, McMullan is also an exhibiting artist. Selected for the Young Masters For the Love of Art History exhibition in 2025, she creates richly layered paintings inspired by magical realism and deep ecology. Her luminous canvases transform overlooked wildernesses into poetic landscapes of geometry and folklore.
