'PETER BLAKE: IN THE STUDIO'
PITZHANGER MANOR & GALLERY, LONDON
EXHIBITION 25 NOVEMBER 2026 - 18 APRIL 2027

In November 2026, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery will stage a major exhibition showcasing the life and work of one of the most celebrated and influential artists of 20th century Britain, Peter Blake.

In a career spanning seven decades, Blake has become the defining figure of British Pop Art with his paintings, collages, prints and album covers. Now his West London studio, just a short distance from the gallery in nearby Hammersmith, will be recreated inside Pitzhanger, offering a rare and intimate insight into his working life, alongside an array of artworks that showcase the full breadth of his artistic output.

'Peter Blake: In the Studio' will feature paintings, sculpture, collages, and works on paper, revealing his deep fascination with both popular culture and British and American cultural life. At the centre of the exhibition will be an immersive recreation of Blake’s studio, allowing visitors to step into the world of the artist’s imagination, and a physical space depicting not only his working environment over many years, but one which is also home to his extraordinary collection of curiosities, memorabilia and artefacts that have inspired him throughout.

To celebrate 40 years of printmaking, Paupers Press has partnered with Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens in Penzance to present the first in a series of exhibitions showcasing highlights from the workshop's output over the past four decades. The inaugural exhibition includes a selection of Brian Eno's etchings.

Other artists exhibiting include Paula Rego, Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry, Caroline Walker, James Turrell, Christopher le Brun, Sarah Ball, Samuel Bassett, Hughie O'Donoghue, Andrew Litten, Tracey Emin, Chris Ofili, Andrjez Jackowski, Jake & Dinos Chapman and Mat Collishaw.

Brian Eno’s exhibition ‘Colourscapes’ at Trafo Editions, Asker, Norway, brings together a selection of unique etchings, lenticular works and his seminal 2024 'Turntable'. Trafo Editions operates as a printmaking studio, framing workshop and community-focused cultural space, with further programming and events to be announced in due course.

'EDGE: WHERE THE LAND MEETS THE SEA'

Susie Hamilton's painting 'Lime Beach' will be part of Hastings Contemporary's major new exhibition 'Edge: Where the Land Meets the Sea' exploring the fundamental connection between land and sea, and the vital role both play in sustaining life on our planet. In an era of profound environmental change, 'Edge' challenges conventional ideas of separation and presents the coastline as a dynamic zone of exchange, where rivers, soils and oceans converge.

A selection of artworks from 'Underground' 2025 are included in 'The Shared Now' at Kunstmuseum Magdeburg, Germany.

'These works began in late 2023 when I made journeys on the District Line and did quick drawings of seated figures, distorting them through speed of drawing. Tube travellers became moon-eyed with stick arms or hands like hooks and I liked the way they seemed rickety, outlandish or menacing. Their eccentric shapes, gestures and expressions also reminded me of the pathos, ghostliness or grotesqueness of figures in different kinds of mythological underworld....My spoiling and messing indicated my subjects' fragility with the struggle between a figure trying to exist and materials which were trying to undo it.'
