At Roskilde Festival 2022, Tino Sehgal presents This Variation, as well as an artist talk on Saturday July 2 at 2pm.

At a new venue for the festival called Platform, Sehgal’s work will be presented throughout the day and at times seamlessly transition into both musical presentations and different art content.

Platform is a collaboration between Tino Sehgal and Kunlé Adeyemi. It is their second time collaborating together – the first took place in 2018 at The Shed in New York and was an experimental integration of architecture and choreography. This project is similarly structured in order to facilitate hybridization and open engagement between artist and audience, encouraging new approaches and spatial arrangements that move beyond from the usual stage-audience set up.

Tino Sehgal studied political economy and dance in Berlin and Essen. In 2013 Sehgal was awarded the Golden Lion at the 55th Venice Biennale, as well as representing Germany in the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. He participated in dOCUMENTA 13 in 2012 where This Variation premiered. The artist has exhibited extensively.
