Nathalie et Christophe Gaillard sont heureux d’annoncer la nomination de Sophie Roose au poste de Directrice de leur future galerie bruxelloise.

Le 7 septembre prochain, au 50 quai du Commerce à Bruxelles, en face de KANAL – Centre Pompidou, une nouvelle étape débutera pour la Galerie Christophe Gaillard qui ouvre sa première galerie hors de France.

Sophie Roose, licenciée en sciences commerciales et forte d’une expérience de plus de 20 ans dans le secteur culturel, sera responsable de la direction de cette galerie.
Le parcours de Sophie Roose a été marqué par plusieurs temps forts : Sa carrière débute avec la Fondation Walter & Nicole Leblanc, dont elle fut la Secrétaire Générale pendant 5 ans. En 2009, Sophie Roose devient responsable de la gestion et de la mise en valeur de la collection d’entreprise Proximus, principale société de télécommunication belge. Après 6 années passées au sein de cette collection d’art contemporain, elle rejoint, un temps, la maison de ventes Christie’s en tant que Spécialiste d’art d’après-guerre et contemporain. Dès 2016, elle prend la direction de la galerie de la Béraudière, spécialisée en art moderne et se charge de son développement à Bruxelles. Elle y reste pendant 7 ans. Parallèlement à cette fonction, Sophie Roose a assuré, pendant 4 ans, le poste de Secrétaire Générale et Coordinatrice du « International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art » (IACCCA). Cette association rassemble, au niveau international, plus d’une cinquantaine d’importantes collections d’entreprises dédiées à l’art contemporain. Au cours de sa carrière, elle a également fait partie du Conseil d’administration de Proximus Art asbl et du IACCCA.
Quadrilingue et passionnée par l’art contemporain et moderne, Sophie Roose sera en charge du développement, en Belgique et à l’international, de la Galerie Christophe Gaillard Brussels.

La galerie bruxelloise exposera les artistes déjà présents au sein de son entité parisienne tout en proposant une programmation résolument tournée vers la scène belge mais également internationale.

On 7 September, at Quai du Commerce 50 in Brussels, opposite KANAL - Centre Pompidou, it will be a new dawn for the Christophe Gaillard gallery, which will open its first gallery outside France.

Business science graduate Sophie Roose will bring over 20 years' experience in the cultural sector to this experience and be responsible for managing the gallery.
Sophie Roose's career has been marked by several highlights: Her career began with the Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation, of which she was Secretary General for 5 years. In 2009, Sophie Roose became responsible for managing and promoting the corporate collection of Contemporary Art of Proximus, Belgium's leading telecommunications company. After 6 years within this corporate Contemporary Art collection, she briefly joined Christie's auction house as Specialist in Post-War and Contemporary Art. In 2016, she took over the management of Galerie de la Béraudière, specialised in Modern Art, and was responsible for its implementation in Brussels. She stayed there for 7 years.
Parallel to her work at Galerie de la Béraudière, Sophie Roose spent 4 years as General Secretary and Coordinator of the International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art (IACCCA). This association brings together, at international level, more than fifty major corporate collections dedicated to contemporary art.
Over the course of her career, she has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Proximus Art asbl and the IACCCA.
Passionate about Contemporary and Modern Art and quadrilingual, Sophie Roose will be in charge of developing Galerie Christophe Gaillard Brussels, in Belgium and internationally.

The Brussels gallery will be exhibiting the artists already present in its Parisian entity, while offering a programme resolutely focused on the Belgian and international scenes.

Nathalie en Christophe Gaillard zijn verheugd de benoeming van Sophie Roose als directrice van hun toekomstige galerij in Brussel aan te kondigen.

Op 7 september begint aan de Handelskaai 50 in Brussel, tegenover KANAL - Centre Pompidou, een nieuwe fase voor Galerie Christophe Gaillard, die er haar eerste tentoonstellingsruimte buiten Frankrijk opent.

Sophie Roose, een licentiate bedrijfswetenschappen met meer dan 20 jaar ervaring in de cultuursector, zal verantwoordelijk zijn voor het beheer van de galerij.
De carrière van Sophie Roose kende al heel wat hoogtepunten: Haar loopbaan begint met de Walter & Nicole Leblanc Stichting, waarvan ze 5 jaar algemeen secretaris is. In 2009 wordt Sophie Roose verantwoordelijk voor het beheer en de presentatie van de bedrijfscollectie van Proximus, het grootste telecombedrijf van België. Nadat ze 6 jaar met deze hedendaagse kunstcollectie heeft gewerkt, gaat ze een tijdje aan de slag bij veilinghuis Christie's als specialist naoorlogse en hedendaagse kunst. In 2016 neemt ze de leiding in handen van de Galerie de la Béraudière, gespecialiseerd in moderne kunst, en is ze verantwoordelijk voor de werking ervan in Brussel. Ze leidt de Belgische vestiging 7 jaar.
Naast haar werk bij Galerie de la Béraudière was Sophie Roose 4 jaar lang algemeen secretaris en coördinator van de International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art (IACCCA). Deze vereniging brengt op internationaal niveau meer dan vijftig grote bedrijfscollecties hedendaagse kunst samen.
Tijdens haar carrière was ze ook lid van de raad van bestuur van de vzw Proximus Art en de IACCCA.
Sophie Roose is viertalig en gepassioneerd door hedendaagse en moderne kunst. Ze zal verantwoordelijk zijn voor de ontwikkeling van Galerie Christophe Gaillard Brussel, zowel in België als internationaal.

De Brusselse galerij stelt kunstenaars tentoon die al vertegenwoordigd zijn in haar Parijse vestiging, maar biedt tegelijkertijd een programma dat zich resoluut richt op de Belgische en internationale scene.
