Depuis 15 ans, la fondation partage la collection Francès à travers ses expositions. Pour fêter cette quinzième année, nous avons décidé d'offrir aux institutions qui partagent nos valeurs, la possibilité d’emprunter gratuitement une ou plusieurs œuvres de la collection.

Installée à Senlis et à Clichy, la fondation Francès diffuse depuis sa création en 2009, la collection d’art éponyme initiée il y a plus de 20 ans par Estelle et Hervé Francès. Constituée au fur et à mesure des découvertes du couple de collectionneurs, la collection dévoile a posteriori un fil rouge – « l’Homme et ses excès » – et devient alors une source d’inspiration et de convictions affirmées. Ouvertes à toutes les expressions artistiques, elle réunit aujourd’hui près de 800 oeuvres contemporaines internationales, chacune étant répertoriée et accessible en ligne ( fondationfrances.com). Convaincue que l’art ne se confisque pas, la fondation a pour ambition de partager les œuvres dont elle est dépositaire avec le plus grand nombre, œuvrant activement à la démocratisation de l’art contemporain. Pour ses 15 ans, elle souhaite favoriser l'accès à la collection en renouvelant sa dynamique de prêt auprès d’une sélection d’institutions, aussi bien des partenaires historiques que nouveaux, des structures dont les projets dialoguent intimement avec les engagements et convictions que nous défendons. C’est dans ce cadre que nous proposons le prêt d’une ou plusieurs de ses oeuvres, à titre gracieux. Nous serions ravis de pouvoir partager la collection Francès et d'initier au cœur de multiples institutions de nouvelles rencontres, discussions et émotions autour des oeuvres qui nous sont chères.

À l’origine du projet, une rencontre, comme souvent, aussi inattendue que mémorable entre les collectionneurs Estelle et Hervé Francès avec les trois artistes sur place, à Ambunti en juillet 2018. Après de longs échanges et discussions, un projet de résidence artistique internationale, porté par l’Association Françoise pour l’œuvre contemporaine, voit le jour et se concrétise enfin, en janvier 2024. Pendant trois mois, les artistes sont accueillis à la Cité internationale des arts de Paris pour mener des recherches sur leur pratique artistique mais aussi participer à une programmation variée : des expositions, des ateliers, des temps de rencontre et d’échange, organisés à la fondation Francès à Senlis et à Clichy, mais aussi à Paris et en région, au cœur d’institutions publiques et privées partenaires.

2024, our 15th anniversary

For the past 15 years, the Foundation has been sharing the Francès collection through its exhibitions. To celebrate its fifteenth anniversary, we have decided to offer institutions which share our values, the opportunity to borrow free of charge one or more works from the collection. |

Based in Senlis and Clichy, the Francès Foundation has been promoting since its creation in 2009, the eponymous art collection initiated over 20 years ago by Estelle and Hervé Francès. The collection was gradually assembled through the couple's discoveries. Later it revealed a common thread - "Man and his excesses" - and became a source of inspiration and strong convictions. Open to all forms of artistic expression, it now features around 800 international contemporary works, each listed and visible online ( fondationfrances.com). The foundation believes that art should not be taken away, so it aims to share its possessions with as many people as possible, in an attempt to democratize contemporary art. It actively works to democratize contemporary art. To mark its 15th anniversary, the Foundation wishes to promote access to its collection by renewing its loan policy with a selection of institutions, both historic and new partners, whose projects are in close dialogue with the commitments and convictions we uphold. It is within this framework that we offer to loan one or more of our works, free of charge.We would be delighted to share the Francès collection with various institutions and to initiate new encounters, discussions and emotions around the works we hold dear. |

For the first part of its 2024 program, the Fondation Francès welcomes and presents, in Senlis and Clichy, three contemporary artists from Papua New Guinea: Raymond Kowspi Marek and his two sons, Agatoak Ronny Kowspi and Robin Chiphowka Kowspi. |

The project is the result of a memorable and unexpected meeting between collectors Estelle and Hervé Francès and the three artists on site in Ambunti in July 2018. After extensive discussions and negotiations, a project for an international artistic residency, supported by the Association Françoise pour l'œuvre contemporaine, emerged.
This project will finally take place in January 2024. For three months, the artists will be welcomed at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris to carry out research on their artistic practice, but also to take part in a diversified cultural program: exhibitions, workshops, talks and workshops, organized at the Fondation Francès in Senlis and Clichy, but also in Paris and surrounding regions, within public and private institutions.
